Summer Stargazing

My daughter loves to look up at the stars and make shapes, find the Large & Small Dipper, and wish upon shooting stars!
We decided to have a night of Stargazing! For the next 2 weeks we have meteor showers taking place in the atmosphere, and she is very excited to see a lot of shooting stars. We looked at the backyard and chose a perfect spot! We went into the garage, and pulled out our Magical Cloud Beds (a.k.a blow up mattresses for camping), sleeping bags, duvets, pillows, and lanterns. We set up our beds in the backyard, added some tables, a little rug between our mattresses.... and Wal-LA we created an amazing outdoor setting for optimal stargazing! As the Sun went down we lit the fire pit, and cooked up some yummy S'mores. The stars began to light up the sky, and my husband reached for his phone to look at the sky, showing us all the constellations & planets. The kids were so excited to sleep outside on their magical cloud beds, they asked if we could do it EVERY night!

Below is the poem my daughter recites after seeing each shooting star before she wishes on it:
Star light, Star bright
The first star I see tonight
I wish I may, I wish I might
Get the wish, I wish tonight

Happy Stargazing!!
Create special memories that will last a lifetime!

Barbie Mega Blocks "Girls Legos"

Barbie Mega Blocks are the perfect gift to get your little girl engaged in spacial awareness, and engineering while playing with one of her favorite dolls. The Barbie Mega Blocks Luxury Mansion lets her build rooms, decorate them, and then role play with the beautifully made miniature Barbies. My little girl loves her brother's Legos, but wants her own pink ones. The Barbie Mega Blocks sets teach skills that are children are loosing with all of the screen time (TV, video games, ipads, Kindles... etc. It's crucial that they can operate in a spacial context, and building  3D objects with interactive play ensures their brains are developing with the tools they will need in life.
My daughter loves all of the Barbie Mega Blocks sets, and I'm happy she's developing her engineering/spacial brain function that will help her grow and learn.
FYI- She loves her Kindle Fire, and all of her learning games.  BUT... the Mega Blocks exercise a separate part of her brain, and that makes us happy.

Preventing & Treating ADHD & Autism

Prevent  & Treat ADHD & Autism - Please take the time to view these videos.

This is my personal experience, and I'm not a doctor.  Please work with a doctor if you decide to apply this.
My step son is severe ADHD with symptoms of ASD spectrum.  He is currently on Ritalin LA and has had substantial and limited success with this.   The most concerning behaviors that are Autism spectrum; hand flapping, social behavior, anxiety, and other diagnostic criteria for ASD spectrum have  reduced almost completely by supplementing his diet with iodine. From one parent to another, I would have not believed this if I hadn't seen it for myself.  I hope this helps you as much as it's helped us.  These videos are done by an MD who specializes in Iodine and the effect on our bodies.

Fun Activities For You & Your Kids To Share

Summer Vacation is officially here! The kids are so excited and have been asking to go on roller coasters since the last day of school.  My husband and I love to take the kids out to explore the world, and that means finding new and exciting things for them to experience. Once in a blue moon we have Daddy & son day, and Mommy & daughter day. We did this once, and it was such a big hit they ask for it all the time. Boys go and do boy things, and the girls go and do everything girly... so much fun! Bella and I have gone to the ballet, we get our hair done, we have mani and pedis, high tea for a princess, and many other girly things that boys don't enjoy. It's pure girl time and we have a great time laughing, and playing together. I didn't realize how much of an impact this had until Bella wrote a list of what she liked BEST about me on Mother's Day... she said the BEST thing she loved the most was to play with me!! Ahhhh.... melt my heart! So we are making this a tradition... once a month, for 1 day on the weekend we play separately from the boys!
We also look for fun things to do as a family such as; go to the beach, fly kites, launch rockets in a big field, hiking to waterfalls, dinner parties, play in the pool, free play at the gymnastics gym, run wild at the bouncy house(large warehouse with many large inflatable slides), and many other fun adventures.
I hope you have as much fun as we do!! :)

Teacher Recommended - Top 10 Best Apps For Learning

Here are the top ipad/kindle Apps that were recommended by our son's teacher.
These are the best learning apps to help increase your child's comprehensive skills.
We are big fans of the kindle's new "Kid's Environment". This kid only environment allows parents to regulate their child's time on the kindle(technology device). Parents are able to set separate time limits for movies/entertainment, learning games, and reading.  We programed the kindle to allow 2 hours of entertainment, 2 hours of learning games, and unlimited reading time. When your child's time is up they do not have access to those areas, and this becomes a third party who controls their time. It simply works GREAT!
Top 10 Kindle / ipad Apps To Teach Your Child:
1. Little Solver Preschool Logic - Alligator Apps  $.99
2. Write My Name - Injini  $3.99
3. Play 123 - CJ Educations  $Free
4. Bugs and Buttons - Little Bit Studio  $2.99
5. Fish School - Duck Duck Moose  $1.99
6. Tally Tots - Spinlight Studio  $.99
7. Teach Me: Kindergarten - 24x7Digital  $.99
8. Sentence Maker - Grasshopper Apps  $.99

Easter egg hunts are one of the most fun events of the year! Children of all sizes ready their baskets for the hunt, and off they go to explore and find small treasures awaiting them. Most communities sponsor Easter egg hunts. Look in your local paper or online to find the Easter egg hunts around you. They are most often found at Parks, Recreation Centers, Community Centers, and Churches.
These moments are remembered for a lifetime, and capture the child's heart with color and imagination. Celebrate Spring with all the fun, and beauty that it holds. Happy Hunting!

A Topic We All Begin To Scratch Our Heads About - Lice

Lice in Schools - We all dread the note that comes home from our child's school explaining that one or more students have lice, and to check our child. Just talking about this makes my head itch! Here is the BEST solution for LICE PREVENTION, and it's call Fairy Tales (see picture). This leave-in conditioner has all natural plant extracts that repel lice. Yes, that's right... REPELS LICE!! It smells great with hints of rosemary, and it's completely non-toxic. I have used this every year, and we have not had one case of lice at our house. I know that they also carry other products to remove lice... but we have not had to use any of those. This is the BEST line of defense that I have found to keep lice away from my kids. I know it's an unpleasant topic, but from what I have seen, and read lately it seems to be an epidemic in the public and private school systems. Use this after their bath or shower, and leave it in their hair. The Fairy Tales repels lice, and it's also a great detangler. May you be forever lice free!

Easter is almost here, and we have lots of shopping to do!
This is one of our favorite holidays as Spring begins to blossom, and everything begins to come to life. Spring gives us so many lovely things to be thankful for.
Here is one of Bella's favorite picks...This dress is adorable and she will look like a beautiful flower for photos and fun Easter Egg hunting!
We also shop for our Easter Baskets at this time to make sure they are here by Easter. It usually takes a couple of weeks for them to embroider names, and get them shipped out to us. I usually shop for  Easter baskets in the Store on page 2, or I also shop at Pottery Barn Kids . Both have adorable baskets for kids of all ages! Happy Easter Hunting!
